Analytical Quality Control

Our team of experts can help you achieve accurate and dependable results to ensure outstanding filtration performance

Quality Control in Laboratories

Reliable Results & Proven Performance

Quality Control Laboratories play a crucial role in identifying contamination and product issues before final release.  The data generated by these QC labs helps guide critical decisions.  The reliability of these results are demonstrated by Pall’s proven performance analyzing samples from 150 mL to less than 25 µL.

Protect What Really Matters with Pall Laboratory Syringe Filter Technology

Syringe filters perform sample clean-up and preparation, ensuring the purest samples are analyzed in liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, and ion chromatography applications. Reliable results depend upon accurate data, achieved by the low extractables and high particulate retention of our syringe filters.

Effects of filters on HPLC column life following injections of unfiltered and filtered 0.05% latex sphere suspensions. With unfiltered samples, the column failed due to plugging after 19 injections. Samples passed through Competitor filters plugged the columns after 500 injections. No increase in backpressure was observed after 1000 injections of samples filtered with Pall Acrodisc One syringe filters.

HPLC & UHPLC Sample Preparation

A filter for HPLC applications is designed to increase accuracy by removing unwanted particles. However, the wrong filter can be a source of contaminants in the form of extractables that elute into the sample from the filter device. These undesired artefacts can jeopardize analytical results. Some extractable concerns include coelution, false quantitation, and extraneous peaks

LCMS Sample Preparation

In analytical sample preparation, extraction and leaching of chemical compounds from filters are major concerns, particularly when using liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LCMS) for analysis. LCMS has gained popularity due to its versatility and superior sensitivity for both qualitative and quantitative analyses.

IC Sample Preparation

We certify our Ion Chromatography (IC) Acrodisc syringe filters have been tested using a highly sensitive IC protocol to monitor inorganic extractables. For ion chromatography applications, only the IC Acrodisc (PES) syringe filter is certified for low levels of inorganic extractables. Actual background levels of filter extractables are typically less than 20 ppb for chloride, 6 ppb for nitrate, 1 ppb for phosphate, and 10 ppb for sulfate.

Mobile Phase Filtration

By filtering mobile phase, analysts can reduce debris capable of plugging the sinker and column frits, causing contamination, damaging pump valves, blocking capillaries, causing poor peak performance, and contributing extra peaks and excessive chromatographic noise.
