Pall filtration solutions help overcome challenges in cannabis oil extraction to meet increasing demand and maintain quality.
With the cannabis oil market projected to quadruple in the U.S. and Canada, cannabis oil, the oil extracted from the cannabis plant is on a fast track for growth! Today the biggest challenge for manufacturers is to meet the ever-increasing consumer demand for a high-quality, compound-rich oil with a clear golden character that is free of chlorophyll.
To produce cannabis oil, the compounds must first be extracted from the plant. There are several ways to extract the oil, however, the two most common methods are CO2 extraction and ethanol extraction. Following extraction is the challenging process of filtration to remove the undesirable wax that causes haze and the green color from the chlorophyll in the sativa plant. Current filtration methods pose consequences including product loss, reduced quality and consistency, and are not scalable for increasing product demand.
In our webcast, “A Budding Industry”: How Filtration Solutions Can Help with Cannabis Extraction you’ll learn:

Growing up in Holland, and as a long-time resident of the U.S., Klaas has always been aware of the different ways that the cultures treated cannabis. The rise in acceptance of medical marijuana in the early ‘00s identified a considerable gap to him. Cannabis became medically recommended by physicians, but their ability to properly prescribe effective doses assumed they had the information they needed. They did not. They were not able to predict the proper dosage or effect of what they were prescribing. In 2010 after a conversation with a physician, Klaas set out to close that gap. It was a solution born in his homeland. The proprietary analysis procedure they use today allows them to determine with remarkable accuracy both the effect of different strains and their potency. This enabled them to develop consistent, reliable and safe products for the first time.
