SUPRAdisc™ with Activated Carbon Sheet Media

Activated Carbon Sheet Media

What is SUPRAdisc 1 AKS 4 with activated carbon sheet media?

The SUPRAdisc 1 filter modules are Pall´s generation one modules, based on the classical single cell design developed in the 1980´s. Single filter cells incorporating 2 sheets and a drainage core, sealed by injection molding on the outer diameter, are then stacked and combined with a flat gasket or bajonett double-O-ring adapter.

The SUPRAdisc 1 module design is used to produce our Activated Carbon Sheet AKS 4 media in 12” and 16” size

SUPRAdisc 1 AKS 4

12“ and 16“ Modules

  • Satisfies general purpose of carbon adsorption applications in the food and beverage industry.
  • Eliminates the significant drawbacks relating to the handling of bulk carbon powder in PAC processing which is combined with massive AC dust,  cleaning of the process equipment, as well as time and costs associated with carbon removal from the process.
  • SUPRAdisc I AKS4 immobilized carbon filter media alleviates these concerns by incorporating activated carbon within a matrix of cellulosic fibers. Use in F&B processes has shown that the adsorption efficiency of the AKS immobilized carbon filter media is greater than an equivalent amount of bulk powdered activated carbon (PAC), reducing overall process time and increasing product yield. An internal comparative study using the same carbon grade showed up to 150 % better color removal efficiency when compared to bulk PAC.
